Hanukkah isn’t traditionally a big decorating holiday, but we could all use a little extra cheer in our living spaces right now. While decorating for Christmas in an elegant, sophisticated way is super easy, decorating for Hanukkah is not. ’Tis the season for the single Hanukkah end-cap store display.
Unfortunately, most Hanukkah decorations are cheesy, overwhelmed with plastic party goods, bright blue glitter, and really awful puns. Hanukkah stuff is so literal while Christmas decor gets snowflakes, plaid, and even snow. Don’t get me started on plastic dreidel string lights, but the word tacky comes to mind.
I suffer from a rare affliction called Handbag Addiction. It came over me while I was still young; entranced by my grandmother’s handbags full of loose receipts and strawberry candies, and my aunt’s closet full of pebbled leather handbags.
I’m ready to admit it: I’m a bag lady.
On a cold morning, I checked my usual roster of online retailers as I sipped my morning coffee. I’d been careful about spending money because I hadn’t been working as much, but I know a good deal when I see one. Something came over me and I needed to have it at…
In the luxury sector, a product being everywhere means it’s no longer exclusive. What’s Gucci going to do about it?
Gucci is banning influencer gift giving. Mr. Porter, Net-A-Porter, and Farfetch are now banned from giving Gucci products to bloggers or influencers.
Is Gucci seeking more control of their image, or is there something else happening?
In 2017, over 50% of Gucci’s sales came from millennials, a generation that has been particularly troubling for luxury brands. Millennials have an appetite for new things and they are driven by content, emotions and personal connections.
Influencer marketing isn’t a new thing, but…
They split me open.
Inside, they found healed wounds from old battles.
I was repaired. I was fixed.
The scars were there, and they were deep.
But now the scars are just tiny fragments of something that once was.
I wear those memories like a Cartier Love bracelet.
Locked onto me forever with a tiny screw and solid gold screwdriver.
It’s beautiful, isn’t it?
I’ve been doing prolonged exposure therapy for about 7 months now to deal with a sexual assault that happened when I was 13.
I thought I was over it for YEARS. I got into therapy right after it happened, where I was diagnosed with PTSD. At the time, they didn’t know how to handle sexual assault, especially in a young girl, so therapy didn’t exactly help.
The two boys ended up doing the same thing to two other girls. I still regret not speaking up soon. However, one of the girls was brave enough to speak up and the boys…
I’ve been having a hard time putting into words how I feel about Kate Spade’s passing.
She was found dead in her Park Avenue apartment. Death by suicide.
All over the internet, people said they didn’t know she suffered from mental illness.
I’m sure you had no idea she was suffering. I had no idea this amazingly talented and creative woman suffered from depression. I know her brand story, who helped husband was, how her business started, but I didn’t know she suffered from depression.
Why is it any of my business or yours to know?
For some reason, it’s…
The old-fashioned way: in real life.

One of the most common questions I get from people who find out I’m married is, “How did you and your husband meet?” We’re coming up on our 8 year anniversary of being together, and I wanted to tell the story of how we came to be The Lunas. I’d love to hear your “how I met my significant other” story in the comments.
Enjoy.
From the time I was a little girl, I always loved romance stories. …
Most people today are completely unaware of the serious issues behind the enterprise of counterfeit fashion goods, particularly within the designer handbag and accessories market. Breaking the law with a replica bag is justified with claims like “sellers are just giving people what they want at a more affordable price”, and “I’m just carrying it for a little while, I can’t afford the real thing”, and “the luxury companies have so much money so they aren’t really being hurt.”
One of the biggest issues facing consumers in the luxury market is the sheer volume of illegal designer goods like Louis…
I’ve been a writer for my entire life–I’ve written journals, diaries, anonymous blogs, record reviews in magazines, personal essays in Huffington Post, and a lot about handbags. I’ve always wondered why I write, and what has drawn me to it. It’s always felt like a release–like getting words on a page makes everything feel a little less horrible and hard.
In the last year, I’ve challenged myself to write about my life–both what I’m living right now, and the past. …
I’ve been so nervous to talk about cannabis — but I live in Washington state, where it’s legal. I use marijuana, notably high-CBD edibles, to manage chronic pain and anxiety. It’s one of the only things that works to quiet chronic pain.
I wasn’t always in favor of using marijuana. In fact, I was against it for most of my life.
For many years, I identified with a movement in punk sub-culture called Straight Edge — refraining from alcohol, drugs, and promiscuous sex. I was STAUNCHLY against using drugs — I didn’t even want to take Tylenol for a headache!
